Foster and Adoption Program

ATA started the rescue/foster/adoption program in 1993 to find homes for the many homeless dogs and cats in Austin. All through the 90's and up until 2006, ATA animals were featured at PetSmart and Petco stores throughout the city and wonderful permanent homes were found for deserving dogs and cats. Our goal has always been to love them as our own until we can find just the right match for them.

Today ATA operates two full-time veterinary clinics and the majority of our time is spent providing quality care for the animals brought in by their owners or rescue guardians. While our focus has changed from rescue to veterinary medicine, we continue to provide care for the cats and dogs that are still in our program looking for just the right home. We no longer take in animals for adoption but encourage you to adopt one of the ones we still have available for adoption. All ATA animals are sterilized, vaccinated, tested, on prevention for heartworms and fleas, treated for intestinal parasites, microchipped, and registered with the city of Austin.

Our mission now for injured homeless animals brought into our clinics is for ATA to provide any and all medical care and then assist in the transfer to another rescue group for adoption.

We have cats ready for adoption and looking for a loving home. For information on cat adoptions, adoption fees, and how to fill out our adoption application, email us at catadoption@animaltrustees.org or contact Barbara at (512) 459-6333 or Fernando at (512) 581-7377.

For information on dog adoptions, look on our website as well as bluedogrescue.com. We partner with Blue Dog Rescue for most of our dog adoptions. You can also email about dog adoptions to dogadoption@animaltrustees.org.
