Friends,
Petcasso 2010 was a truly remarkable event. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of Animal Trustees of Austin, we want to say thank you! Your attendance, contributions and support helped to raise over $180,000 for Animal Trustees' programs and services.
What an evening it was! The night began with a delicious buffet by Crave Catering as guests were serenaded by guitarist Aaron Dembe. Our bountiful silent auction, elegantly designed by Rona Ebert, was in full swing. Lovely centerpieces by Felicia and Amanda Adams created a sophisticated look for the event. As always, event producer Debra Davis and her team from Filo Designs, Freeman and Custom Creations presented a top-notch production. Opening remarks from Executive Director Missy McCullough were followed by accolades from Board President and Event Chair Carol Smith Adams, and it was "on with the show!"
Jim Spencer from KXAN guided the production as emcee while auctioneer, Walt Roberts (new to Petcasso this year), both entertained and charmed the audience. The painting "Triplets" by Kiko, Lulabelle and Roux sold for $5,000, and that lucky auction winner will also be treated to a Gumbo feast at the home of Lynn Yeldell and Alisa Weldon. Another top dollar item was the painting "Life Raft" by Casey and Cora Haskins, selling for $10,000. Once again, our friends Gilbert Johnson, Tino Ramirez and their dog Otis stole the show in their one-of-a-kind Petcasso designed attire. Gilbert and Tino, along with their friend Sally Hawkins, provided the delicious hand-made chocolate treats for our guests. Petcasso patrons stopped in for a fun photo session with Say Cheese as they departed.
Special thanks to the families and their animals who helped create the art for Petcasso 2010. Debra Davis, Julia Hilder and Patty Mora are our 'Petcasso Angels,' and we are forever grateful to them for their incredible work and dedication. We also extend our very special thanks to all of our event sponsors, especially our title sponsor, Bill Dickson, and to all our generous silent auction donors.
Petcasso 2010 was the BEST EVER, and the animals of central Texas will benefit greatly due to your generosity and support.
