ROLLING IN THE GRASS

Artist: Elvis and Oscar
Breed: Dachshunds
Guardian: Kent Burress
ROLLING IN THE GRASS

These two rescued Dachshunds may look similar, but that is where the similarity ends. Oscar is the shy, conservative studious type, while Elvis, as his name suggests, is the entertainer. He is appropriately named because he is very proud to be a hound dog, he swings his hips, and he sings anytime he has an audience. They both love sleeping in the sun, eating, barking, hunting, and tussling with each other. Lemons are the only things not on their list of favorite foods, and Elvis has even been known to lick drywall mud off the wall. According to Kent Burress, their guardian, “They are hunters, protectors, sleepers, sounders, and honest spirits. They also think I am the greatest thing that ever lived, and you just can’t beat that!” Kent prepared a canvas inspired by nature and wrote dog-related phrases around the edges. The pups took it from there - Elvis explored his creative side by chasing tennis balls coated with paint across the canvas, and Oscar’s addition of paw and claw marks really showed off his gifts. Elvis and Oscar’s only painting regret was the post-painting bath, as it had taken them weeks to reach their perfect aromatic blend of dirt, dead possum, manure, rosemary, and fishpond water. To see all that effort going down the drain was only made bearable by all the attention they got from their fans.
