Golden Retriever Charm had a food theme when creating her painting. Her painting reminded us of turtle cheesecake, and turkey and cheese sandwiches were her motivation. The food theme continues at home as she is the official spice sniffer. She especially likes garlic and ginger. Other favorites include Czech food and Mother Hubbard tidbits. Some of her favorite activities are dashing out the door at the smallest opportunity, playing with tennis balls, and running off the leash deep into the greenbelt foraging for foxes. Her favorite place to sleep is what her humans call “dog alley” which is the space between her guardians Sharon and John. To prepare for creating her masterpiece, she had a spa day at the groomers, and she had her human grandmother come to Austin to be part of her audience. Later she admitted to having a bit of stage fright. But, true to her show dog beginnings, the stage fright left the minute she saw the cameras and knew that the painting experience was all about her. Charm has discovered her true artist within and going forward, Charm would like to be known as Charmbrandt.
