The artist colony of Tidbit, Tucker, Otis, and Romeo created our last painting. Tidbit is an adorable eight -year-old Miniature Dachshund who loves to get her beauty sleep. She was just a “tidbit” of a dog when adopted at 10-weeks-old. Tucker, a nine-year-old Dachshund, describes himself as strong, but sensitive. He was washed ashore after escaping from a puppy mill and swimming across a river. His rescuers saw how tuckered out he was…hence the name “Tucker”. Four-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, Romeo (a.k.a. the dog of love), is a Hurricane Katrina rescue. He likes sitting outside, relaxing, and looking for wildlife. He thinks his brother Otis makes the best play toy. The newest member of the pack is Otis, a two-year-old Miniature Pinscher. He got his name from trying to jump to the next floor like an “Otis” elevator. His favorite thing is to jump, run, bark, repeat. Otis was rescued after days of roaming the streets.
Regretfully, the colony recently lost its longest standing member, a 14-year-old Chihuahua named Ricky (aka Tricky Ricky). This year’s Petcasso is dedicated to her memory. Ricky competed with Tidbit for the title of “cutest dog” in the house.
